Hilo author Judd Winick to visit Synergy

Award-winning graphic novelist Judd Winick is coming to Synergy School on Wednesday, April, 26!

Synergy students, grades Young K-6, will have the opportunity to meet graphic novelist Judd Winick as he speaks and presents on his newest book, Hilo, the Great Big Boom, the third book in his popular Hilo series.

Judd Winick, who resides in San Francisco’s Noe Valley, is an award-winning author, artist, and illustrator. He first came to national attention as an original cast member of The Real World: San Francisco in 1994. He’s the author of the autobiographical memoir, Pedro and Me, a freelance writer for DC Comics, the creator of the Barry Ween, Boy Genius comic miniseries, and of the animated show The Life and Times of Juniper Lee. Books one and two of his Hilo series for young readers have been a mainstay of the New York Times bestseller list (before they retired the category) and feature the adventures of two normal school kids and their outer-space friend, Hilo.

If you have any specific questions regarding the event or the book, please contact the librarian, Susanne DeRisi.
